Crypts of Obscurum is a solo (or 3 player cooperative) dungeon crawl TTRPG that pits your sanity and strength against the horrors of the ancient deep. Drawn to this hellish place by psychal mandate of a black leatherbound book, you descend against your better judgement to your doom.
Utilizing standard playing cards, RPG dice, and a prewritten adventure, this DM-less tabletop game allows for an exciting and replayable narrative experience playable alone or with up to two friends. This game is self-contained and no other books are needed to play!

I bought this on DTRPG. Having a good time so far, but I'm wondering whether I'm handling the Grappled status correctly as I'm finding it very overpowered. Say I decide to grapple my enemy. I do a Guts check against the enemy's CV, 1d12 vs 1d6 in this case. I roll an 11 and they a 6. The enemy as I understand it becomes Grappled [11]. The status description says for them to do a Guts check against that 11, but enemies don't have a Guts stat, so I assumed you'd use their CV die to try to beat 11, which is impossible. Is the enemy now just locked in my murderous grasp until I let them go, effectively taken out of the fight if I don't, or am I misunderstanding something?
Hello! That's exactly right, however you will only be able to make basic attacks against the grappled unit. It was intended to work this way if you roll really well, as if they are simply too weak to wrest themselves free. I chose not to make attacks auto hit to signify the struggle of the opposing party in the heat of battle.

When enemy action is make an attack for X physical damage, does he deal the damage immediately or should he pass his CV against my weapon Attribute?

To answer your question: if you roll an attack result for their behavior, the enemy attack simply happens and you are dealt the damage.
Hi Daniel, I'm really looking forward to playing this but since you're working on 2.0 I'm hesitant to start now as I get a feeling that the first run is going to be the most rewarding experience. How are things moving along with 2.0?
Hey there! I'd say go ahead and play, 2.0 won't reuse any of the same content, and there's no concrete timeline on its release unfortunately.
